Experimenting with the Large Hadron Collider
Explain the story of the Large Hadron Collider: the largest scientific experiment of recent years – arguably of history – where scientists are hoping to discover what happened at the beginning of the world by recreating the Big Bang. A summary is found below on the BBC website.

- What would the success of this experiment prove, in your opinion?
- Do you think it proves anything about the existence or non-existence of God?

Lesson 6: What do Christians believe about suffering?

Suing God
“A US judge has thrown out a case against God, ruling that because the defendant has no address, legal papers cannot be served.

The suit was launched by Nebraska state senator Ernie Chambers, who said he might appeal against the ruling. He sought a permanent injunction to prevent the "death, destruction and terrorisation" caused by God…”

Use this article as the basis for a court case in the classroom, with half the class supporting the side of the plaintiff (Ernie Chambers) and the other side the defendant (God).

Encourage each side to think through the following questions to help them plan arguments and counter-arguments.

- What will be the arguments against God?
- What might God say in return?

Lesson 7: What do Christians believe about sharing their faith?

Jamie Oliver shares his own ‘good news’
In October 2008, Jamie Oliver launched a new series on Channel 4, Jamie’s Ministry of Food. The premise is that obesity is a growing problem in the UK and this is mainly because less people know about how to eat healthily.
